UnitedHealth Networks	Access 2003, SQL Server 2000 and 2005, SSIS	August 2007 - Present

Automated a complex system of queries to process over 2 million claim records, of non-participating lab referrals. Also created a provider database with over 9 million records. The third database uses SQL Server to support over 200 nationwide users that call on providers for various outreach programs. These databases support programs that save United HealthCare over 100 million dollars in non-participating claims.

BlueCross BlueShield of MN	Access 97, Access 2003	October 2004 – December 2007

Architected and developed a Portfolio and Project Management Database application with 2 other Access developers and various project, resource and financial managers. The PPM Database has over 300 users in various departments and allows them to maintain a list of projects with Resources, Budgets, Forecasts, Status Reports as well as various complex, executive reports. The PPM Database as a fully customized application saved BCBSMN over $500,000 in alternative software costs. Redesigned the Healthy Start Database application to accommodate all of the needs of their Outreach, Intake and Case Management staff, 30+ individuals. The Healthy Start Database takes in complex data feeds from various systems, allows a small Outreach staff to send out mailings and telephone thousands of potential clients. The Intake staff processes applications of pregnant mothers over the phone and then passes on the clients to the nursing staff, who assess the specific needs of each expectant mother using 15 or more “domains” of hundreds of assessment questions and allows them to distribute various reference materials and resources to their clients to improve the chance of mothers reaching a full term pregnancy, saving groups millions of dollars in preterm delivery costs.

TORO	Access 2003, 2000, 97, Business Objects	April 2004 – Present

Developed and supported over 15 different Access databases in Commercial Engineering, Commercial Services, Quality, Validation, Legal, Sales and Marketing, and IS Departments. Implemented standard Access practices to eliminate multi-user issues, software version controls, created a multi-developer environment, better security and easier implementation for new users. Supervised a staff of two programmers. Trained employees in Access, delegated work assignments, and lead the software development for a Time Management System. Took an all day Business Objects class.

Interlog USA	Access 2000, Active Server Pages, DHTML, Dreamweaver Linux: SuSE, XMail, MySql, PHP	May 2002 - March 2004

Managed the entire computer and phone needs for Interlog USA, which consists of 30 employees in Minneapolis, 2 employees in California and 20 agent offices throughout the world. Managed the business requirements and support of hardware and software as well as website development consisting of various websites and 4 Access database applications. Directed the purchasing, implementing and maintaining of desktop and office software using Microsoft 2000 server and workstations as well as implementing a local email and firewall server on Linux using SuSE saving the company money. Directed the purchasing of 2 T1 lines for both data, local and long distance phone service.

City of Edina	Front Page, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript	November 2001 - February 2002

Created the City of Edina's website using FrontPage 2002. This website includes over 750 pages. As the technical lead, received content documents from the project leader and graphics from the graphics designer and placed them on each page according to the web site standards.

Target	Access 97	June 2001 - August 2001

Designed and developed a number of enhancements to an Access 97 database that allows users to enter Charge Backs and Credits to shipping vendors who do not ship their products according to Target specifications.

Dollar Driving Records	ASP, HTML, Dreamweaver, Access 2000, IIS, SQL Server	April 2001 - Present

Created the website, www.MNLicenseInfo.com, which allows insurance agents to lookup the driver's license violations for prospective clients for a fee per submission. As the project lead; purchased the domain name, found a web-hosting company to host the domain name, converted the Access 2000 database to a web-based database application. The database has over 5 millions records. The web-based application uses Windows 2000, IIS, ASP, Dreamweaver, HTML and Access 2000.

Sate of Minnesota - DNR	Access 2000	May 2001 - August 2001

Designed and developed an Access 2000 database application prototype that keeps track of all information regarding the State Parks in Minnesota. The database is designed to be used for Internet web pages, the Information Desk and to assist with developing the State Parks Brochure. Designed, developed and implemented an Access 2000 database application that keeps track of all the proposed projects in the State Parks of Minnesota. The database application maintains the list and calculates a ranking, based on a number of codes that reflect priority, safety issues and park attendance.

Modified intranet sites that maintain and search an employee roster. Used HTML, Active Server Pages, Homesite, SourceSafe Style Sheets, and SQL Server.

Updated a client website and CD using Active Server Pages, InterDev, HTML and JavaScript. Designed and developed a number of enhancements to an Access database that maintains sales incentive points and prizes.

Designed and developed a number of enhancements to a client's database application using Visual Basic 6.0 and Access.

Molin	Access 2000	November 200 - February 2001

Designed, developed, and implemented an Access 2000 database application that keeps track of cement products loaded on semi-trucks for the Shipping Department.

Wells Fargo - Denver	Access 97	November 2000 - December 2001

Stabilized the Access database so that it will work properly on the network. Rewrote the application so that it runs better and is easier to use. The application maintains loan applications from dealers and downloads data to ACH for electronic funds transfers, using the standard NACHA format.

Created a variety of Access database applications in Access 97, 2000 for a variety of small business and Fortune 500 clients. Created a database driven, web-based application that updates inventory as users purchase product on-line at www.DansCoupons.com using MySQL and PHP. Created a database driven, web-based application that stores transactions when users purchase services on-line at www.DansConsulting.com using SQL Server and .Net technology.

During bench time, became certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional for Access and learned how to develop dynamic web pages using Microsoft's IIS, HTML and Active Server Pages.

For Corporate Trust Services, converted a Paradox database application to an Access 97 application. The conversion also included additional reports from a variety of spreadsheets. The application kept track of mortgage payments and interest calculations for a master contract.

Created a Client/Server application to track service cases for the claims administration office. The application used Access with extensive Visual Basic as the front-end and DB2 as the database server.

KRS School of Computer & Business	3D Consultant	February 1998 - May 1998

Taught Microsoft's "Programming with Microsoft Access for Windows 95" class. Presented eight classes in the classroom and provided two in the lab to assist the 10-12 students in becoming certified in Access.

United HealthCare Corporation	Senior Programmer/Analyst	October 1991 – January 1997

Supervised a staff of three programmers. Developed and supported over 15 different Access and R:Base databases in Underwriting, Legal, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Medical Services, Group Services Administration, and IS Departments. Served as a Project Lead in implementing the project database for the IS Department. Trained employees in Access, developed a project plan, delegated work assignments, and lead the software development. The project database has since been implemented nationwide with the various IS departments.Developed application modules in 3-Tier technology using Powerbuilder on the PC and C++ and Sybase on a UNIX platform.
