Automated a complex system of queries to process over 2 million claim records, of non-participating lab referrals. Also created a provider database with over 9 million records. The third database uses SQL Server to support over 200 nationwide users that call on providers for various outreach programs. These databases support programs that save United HealthCare over 100 million dollars in non-participating claims.

Architected and developed a Portfolio and Project Management Database application with 2 other Access developers and various project, resource and financial managers. The PPM Database has over 300 users in various departments and allows them to maintain a list of projects with Resources, Budgets, Forecasts, Status Reports as well as various complex, executive reports. The PPM Database as a fully customized application saved BCBSMN over $500,000 in alternative software costs.

Redesigned the Healthy Start Database application to accommodate all of the needs of their Outreach, Intake and Case Management staff, 30+ individuals. The Healthy Start Database takes in complex data feeds from various systems, allows a small Outreach staff to send out mailings and telephone thousands of potential clients. The Intake staff processes applications of pregnant mothers over the phone and then passes on the clients to the nursing staff, who assess the specific needs of each expectant mother using 15 or more “domains” of hundreds of assessment questions and allows them to distribute various reference materials and resources to their clients to improve the chance of mothers reaching a full term pregnancy, saving groups millions of dollars in preterm delivery costs.

Developed and supported over 15 different Access databases in Commercial Engineering, Commercial Services, Quality, Validation, Legal, Sales and Marketing, and IS Departments. Implemented standard Access practices to eliminate multi-user issues, software version controls, created a multi-developer environment, better security and easier implementation for new users.

Supervised a staff of two programmers. Trained employees in Access, delegated work assignments, and lead the software development for a Time Management System. Took an all day Business Objects class.

Directed the purchasing, implementing and maintaining of desktop and office software using Microsoft 2000 server and workstations as well as implementing a local email and firewall server on Linux using SuSE saving the company money. Created the City of Edina's website using FrontPage 2002. This website includes over 750 pages. As the technical lead, received content documents from the project leader and graphics from the graphics designer and placed them on each page according to the web site standards.

Created the website, www.MNLicenseInfo.com, which allows insurance agents to lookup the driver's license violations for prospective clients for a fee per submission. As the project lead; purchased the domain name, found a web-hosting company to host the domain name, converted the Access 2000 database to a web-based database application. The database has over 5 millions records. The web-based application uses Windows 2000, IIS, ASP, Dreamweaver, HTML and Access 2000.

Designed and developed an Access 2000 database application prototype that keeps track of all information regarding the State Parks in Minnesota. The database is designed to be used for Internet web pages, the Information Desk and to assist with developing the State Parks Brochure. Designed, developed and implemented an Access 2000 database application that keeps track of all the proposed projects in the State Parks of Minnesota. The database application maintains the list and calculates a ranking, based on a number of codes that reflect priority, safety issues and park attendance.
