Access Framework, March 1986 - Present

Developed an Access Framework that allows an application developer a tool to create a professional, user-friendly Access application in very little time. The Framework includes project management forms and reports that assist the developer in estimating the cost of the project and tracking actual hours.Developed over 20 different Access applications using this structured approach.

3M Subsidiary - Dyneon, December 1999 - March 2000
Created an Access database application that maintains pricing options for over 100 products, for 10-15 users in 4 different departments. This application is accessible from any where in the world using a dial-up connection. Created a Web-Based, HTML and Active Server Page application that accesses the same Access database. This application includes a Pie Chart based on live data in the database using Active Server Pages.

3M Package Engineering, October 1999 - November 199
Verified that 5 Access database applications were Y2K compliant.

3D Business Solutions, January 1997 - August 1999
Created an Access database to keep track of candidates and their skill sets. During bench time I became certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional for Access 95 and learned Microsoft’s techniques for developing dynamic web pages using Internet Information Server, Proxy Server, Personal Web Server, HTML and Active Server Pages. Worked as a consultant for the following clients.

Piper Jaffray 3D Consultant, April 1999 – August 1999
Updated database from Access 2.0 to Access 97 to be Y2K compliant. Performed maintenance to a variety of Access systems and completed general Access database support to a number of business users. Completed numerous changes to current Access databases as requested by main users.

Norwest Bank 3D Consultant, January 1999 – February 1999
For Corporate Trust Services, converted the Milwaukee Targeted Trust (MTT) Database from a Paradox application to an Access 97 application. The conversion also included additional reports from a variety of spreadsheets. The MTT Database allows Norwest to fulfill its obligation as the Master Servicer for a particular pool of loans. This application was fully documented and evaluated for Y2K compliance.

Allianz, as a 3D Consultant, February 1998 – November 1998
Created a Client/Server application to track service cases for the claims administration office. The application used Access with extensive Visual Basic as the front-end and DB2 as the database server. Converted three Access 2.0 applications to Access 97 and evaluated them for Y2K compliance.

KRS School of Computer & Business 3D Consultant February 1998 - May 1998
Taught Microsoft’s "Programming with Microsoft Access for Windows 95" class. Presented eight classes in the classroom and provided two in the lab to assist the 10-12 students in becoming certified in Access.

National Computer Systems 3D Consultant, October 1997 – November 1997
Created an Access database front-end application to maintain support tables for an SQL Database.

Medical Benefits Administration 3DConsultant, August 1997 – September 1997 Created Access Reports from RIMS.

ELCA Board of Pensions 3D Consultant, January 1997 – July 1997
Developed and supported six Access database applications. Developed and supported nine ACL report files, as well as supporting their RIMS software.

United HealthCare Corporation Senior Programmer/Analyst,
October 1991 – January 1997

Supervised a staff of three programmers. Developed and supported over 15 different Access and R:Base databases in Underwriting, Legal, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Medical Services, Group Services Administration, and IS Departments.

Supported an R:Base Database system that contained over one million records and had five to ten users. This database application produced monthly and ad hoc reports for the underwriting department.

Created the Quality Assurance Review Reporting Database application (QARR). This allows 30-50 quality coaches located in four separate database sites in the Midwest to review over 200-300 data entry clerks’ work each month. These reviews from the QARR Database allow the quality coaches to correct costly errors before claim checks are issued.

Created a database application with R:Base called TAB. The application was used by 10-20 attorneys and legal assistants on a daily basis to keep track of their time spent on projects.

Served as a Project Lead in implementing the project database for the IS Department. Trained employees in Access, developed a project plan, delegated work assignments, and lead the software development. The project database has since been implemented nationwide with the various IS departments.

Microsoft Certified Professional ID: 974583 Passed exam 069 – Microsoft Access for Windows 95 and the Microsoft Access Developer’s Toolkit.

President of St. Vincent De Paul at the Basilica of St. Mary conference. The conference includes 50 volunteers and an annual budget of $200,000. 1997-1998. Developed software to track the distribution of $200,000 of assistance to
5,000-7,000 people annually.

Vice President of St. Vincent De Paul, Council of St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese. The council owns and operates three thrift stores for assistance to the poor. 1997-1998.
